Poultry research conducted by Provimi's seven poultry research facilities world-wide is directed at the generation of knowledge on feed ingredients (including new additives) and formulations to facilitate efficient, animal and environmentally friendly production of safe, high quality poultry meat and eggs.
Some examples of the technology generated by Provimi's Poultry Research group include: in ovo (in egg, see illustration on the left) testing of bioactives; developing biomarkers to relate changes in gut microflora (bacteria) to bird health and the production of safe meat and eggs; and use of Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (or NIR, see illustration on the right) to diagnose and define problems with wet litter (sustainability).
