Preciane: A new advanced maize silage analysis service to improve farm efficiency

At Provimi’s brand launch event on 19 April, Provimi’s Group Director Ruminants Jolanda van Haarlem explained the advantages of our new maize silage analysis for ruminants called Preciane.

Provimi’s advanced analysis Preciane provides rates of ruminal degradation of starch, fibre and protein in maize silage. This innovative service allows better prediction of microbial growth and activity, and thus of the supply of energy and protein to the cow. Preciane predicts the speed with which nutrients become available to rumen microbes during digestion. This allows us to control microbial growth to maximise nutrient supply to the cow while minimising waste.

The service is quick and accurate and allows the farmer more precise feeding.

Preciane is using the largest Near InfraRed Analysis database in the world, consisting of millions of test results, owned by Provimi.

Provimi France is currently working with Preciane, which will now also be set up across a number of other countries within the Provimi Group.
