Provimi’s nutritional technology, whether it is pre-mixes, complete feeds, or young animal feeds, influences a full 7% of the world’s animal nutrition. 3. Where and into what products does Provimi want to expand? |
|
Provimi is dedicated to being a high-value producer in the animal nutrition market. Since the nineties, when Provimi started making its first acquisitions outside Europe, the Group has embraced the concept of geographic expansion and is not at all afraid of looking at opportunities in developing markets of the world where growth is high. This would include but not be exclusive to opportunities in Asia, South and Central America, and Eastern Europe.
As far as products and species are concerned, Provimi is involved in all aspects of animal nutrition. It is Provimi’s practice to thoroughly analyse any market and its growth potential before they enter it. Provimi has a good history of investing in niche markets at the beginning of their growth cycles and reaping additional value for its shareholders. Provimi will continue with this practice where it sees an opportunity. In its traditional businesses, Provimi has a strong commitment to grow in the higher value products such as pre-mixes and pet foods.

4. Who does Provimi consider to be its closest competitors? |
|
Provimi does not see any other company competing directly with it on a global basis, particularly with respect to customer support. Its closest competitors would be Nutreco, a Dutch based animal feed and animal producer, and the major vitamin companies (BASF, DSM, etc). The majority of Nutreco’s income comes from Fish Feed, Fish Farming and in meat processing. In individual markets, local companies provide Provimi with competition. US based Cargill for complete feed and Mars and Nestlé for pet food could also be considered to be competitors in certain market segments of our business.
