SAP Specialist Purchase to Pay, Demand to Supply

Who will be responsible for advocacy of business operations enabling business process with (SAP) technology.

His/her main tasks are:

  • Interacts with business operations to identify end user profiles for end user systems.
  • Develops and manages user profiles implementing application and system security procedures via password and other methods.
  • Provides Level 2 support for production applications.
  • Analyzes identified problems; determines appropriate escalation paths; and escalates identified problems to appropriate technical personnel (Technical Support or Applications Management).
  • May execute routine system and data backup and recovery procedures.
  • Cross references business processes with end user application/system capabilities and works with business personnel to develop application use expertise.
  • May develop decision support (query or reporting) procedures in support of business operations.
  • Configures end user applications in support of application implementations.
  • May be responsible for the leadership of less experienced personnel.
  • Prepares weekly activity and time reports keeping management informed of progress and issues.
  • Validates & executes the test scripts within his domain (the scripts themselves will be created together with the implementation partner)
  • Validates the project & solution documentation for his/her domain (documentation written together with the external partner)
  • Trains the key-users in the different clusters – after being trained him/herself by Cap Gemini
  • Collects country-specific information which has to be included in the Kernel
  • Reports to the Global Business Process Owner, has decision authorization regarding the system design, within the limits of the instructions given by the Global BPO.
  • Collects change requests from the local key users, evaluates the impact on the system as a whole and if the requested change is for local use only or if it could have an added value for the Kernel
  • Decides if a Change Request should be presented to the Global Business Process Owner
  • Calculates the impact of change requests in terms of efforts and costs. Prepares and presents a file for the Global Kernel Owner
  • Meets on a regular basis with his/her peers from the other functional domains

Skill set Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral in English
  • Mature problem solving skills coupled with a business approach
  • Mature program, project management skills
  • Elementary programming skills with focus on query, decision support, and data warehouse development utilizing Business Objects or recognised data warehouse technologies
  • Good understanding of various business processes like Finance, Purchase/Payment, Production
  •  Deep level of knowledge of  SAP

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, mathematics, engineering or related field
  • 10 years at a staff level position leading systems operations IT activities in an international environment
  • At least 5 years as a lead responsible for systems and field operations department levels
  • Knowledge and experience managing and working with enterprise level systems architectures and applications

Reports:

  • Reports to the Manager SAP Competence Centre

Work location and Travel:

  • The position is be based in Rotterdam (the Netherlands)
  • A significant amount of travel (60-75%) is required
