Responsibilities:
The job holder will be responsible for the bottom line results of the animal nutrition business. This will include commercial (sales/marketing) and technical development, providing an acceptable return on investment to shareholders while also providing an adequate work environment. Business geographical area is the Indian subcontinent.
In general the main task will be to develop / optimise the current business model for the animal nutrition business and aggressively grow it, ensuring that the set objectives of this unit are being reached in terms of roll out of nutritional products & programmes, profit, cash flow and market share. Lead the business unit and manage the relationships with other key stakeholders: customers, Provimi Group companies and suppliers.
Tasks:
- Set up of a separate business unit, absorbing the current animal nutrition structure
- Lead the new unit into a new era of professionalism and dedication
- Ensure the financial targets are made
- Ensure the ‘Strategy Into Action’ objectives are reached:
- Define and roll out Market strategy
- Professional margin management
- Roll out innovation programmes
- Create effective team
- Ensure effective relationships with customers and other stakeholders
- See to it that compliance with Provimi Group management standards is upheld
Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in animal feed manufacturing environment, acquiring (full) understanding of organisation, production, sales, finance, HR, quality etc.
- Entrepreneur, developer
- Profit oriented
Personal Skills:
- Self starter and go getter
- Thorough and broad experience in regional business.
- Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
Reporting lines:
- Reports to the General Manager of Provimi India,
- The Commercial Team reports directly into the Business Unit Director.
- Other functional disciplines are provided through Provimi India back-office support.
Work Location & Travel:
- Bangalore, India
- Frequent travel mostly within the region in regards to customer visits, meetings with peers and supplier meetings.

India is a leading and fast growing animal nutrition market. Milk, eggs as well as poultry meat production will be doubled from 2008 till 2020, from already high levels today. Next to this, many producers will shift from home mixed feed to industrially produced feeds accelerating growth further. This will create ample growth opportunity of the Indian feed industry, which is still in its infancy stage today.
Provimi has a leading position in animal health and ingredient / additive trade in India. Next to these two pillars, Provimi is highly committed to build a strong animal nutrition business in this country. Currently a small amount of animal nutrition business is done through the business unit Health. Going forward, a separate business unit Animal Nutrition will be formed, reporting into the general manager India. A business model suiting the requirements of the Indian animal nutrition market will be developed as well.
